Consumer Loan Operations Specialist

What you will do: (This person will be expected to be in-office 5 days a week)

The Consumer Loan Operations Specialist will be part of the Consumer Servicing team. This role is key to ensuring the seamless process for the onboarding of indirect auto loans and lien perfection tracking. The role will also support the processing team with onsite official check and auto check delivery. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, validating funding reports, completing DNA loan disbursements, DNA person maintenance, processing GAP and MBI remittance, indirect title audit tracking, and completing title documents while supporting inbound and outbound calls. This position will have excellent customer service skills, an aptitude for shifting based on business needs and working collaboratively with their team and others.

The Consumer Loan Operations Specialist adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.

  • Support title and insurance tracking for commercial auto loans
  • Support peer training for new hires, and to cross train team members.
  • Interact with governmental agencies, dealerships, financial center/frontline teams assisting them with error resolutions, lien perfections and general servicing questions.
  • Review all dealer documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to funding any new loans.
  • Works in collaboration with other team members and departments
  • Additional job-related projects and duties as assigned by management.

What we need from you:

Education Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years of work experience in business or finance required.
  • 3 years of customer service experience required.
  • Takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions, failures and overall deliverables
  • Utilizes oral and written communication to enhance relationships across the organization
  • Clearly communicates information, thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise and organized manner
  • Relates comfortably with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography
  • Possesses a clear understanding of strengths, limitations, emotions, beliefs, and motivations of self and others
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment
  • Adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
  • Demonstrates an understanding of SECU’s culture, core values, mission and strategic priorities as it relates to one’s work and overall performance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Must be able to adjust quickly to shifting priorities. Highly organized and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have high attention to detail and data analysis.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education.

  • The Hourly Range for this grade is $24.62 – $39.42, but the budgeted range for this role is $24.62 - $32.02.
