Process Engineer

Department: Project Management
Location: Linthicum, MD

SECU is seeking a Process Engineer. This is a hybrid position, so candidates must reside within commuting distance to our Linthicum Heights, MD office.

The Process Engineer will work closely with SECU stakeholders to identify and implement process solutions and provide technology/production support across multiple systems of record. Areas of focus will be on Retail Banking and Service Operations, with the goal of reducing process waste, making it easier for employees to deliver exceptional experiences to our members.

A day in your life might include:

  • Design & develop process-oriented solutions: Design and implement optimization solutions that ensure adequate change management and adoption at all levels.
  • Tactical Support: Provide tactical support, analyzing data and working with teams to implement solutions
  • Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders, facilitating sessions to identify opportunities and structure those opportunities into manageable work streams and deliverables.
  • Benefits Realization: Measures benefits expectations and realization. Monitor and report on the elimination of process waste with optimization initiatives to ensure organizational efficiency and profitability.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 2-5 years leading optimization projects in financial services or transactional based processes.
  • High degree of proficiency utilizing all Microsoft Office products.
  • Advanced PowerBI skills & SQL skills.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, excellent written & verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Analytical Thinking: Skilled at evaluating data critically & making decisions based on findings. Ability to identify problems quickly and find effective solutions that reduce waste and expense.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements. Knowledge of core financial systems (e.g. DNA, Fiserv) is a plus.
  • Takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions, failures and overall deliverables
  • Utilizes oral and written communication to enhance relationships across the organization
  • Clearly communicates information, thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise and organized manner
  • Relates comfortably with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment
  • Adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
  • Deep understanding of ways to transform, analyze, and communicate results from data into process improvements.
  • Innovative, creative and forward thinking about solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to complete projects and achieve results.
  • Ability to prioritize with and without supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt with 2 years’ experience applying the methodology Advanced skills in MSO Power platform.
  • Business Process Management
  • Certified Project Management Professional

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: We typically hire near to the mid-point, which is $115,100.

  • Salary: Min. $88,500 - $141,700
